NH Nonghyup Bank donated rice and rice cake soup rice worth 100 million KRW to the Gyeonggi-do Social Welfare Council to provide a warm Lunar New Year for vulnerable groups in the province.
On this day, 2,300 bags of rice (10kg) and 334 boxes of rice cake soup rice (500g) donated to the Gyeonggi-do Social Welfare Council for vulnerable groups in the province will be delivered to people experiencing difficulties in life, such as beneficiaries and near-poor classes, through food banks and markets in the province.
Kim Min-ja, Head of NH Nonghyup Bank Gyeonggi Headquarters, emphasized, "We will continue to practice win-win sharing with Gyeonggi-do and take the lead in social contribution activities for marginalized groups to contribute to the development of the local community."
Park Geun-tae, Director of Welfare Projects in Gyeonggi-do, said, "We appreciate your participation in this meaningful donation for vulnerable groups despite the decrease in donations due to the economic downturn in Gyeonggi-do," and added, "We hope this donation made at the beginning of the year will serve as a catalyst for spreading the culture of donation throughout the year and deliver warmth to neighbors in need."
The food bank project is a sharing program that provides donated food and daily necessities free of charge to low-income vulnerable groups. Residents who wish to use the food bank can visit their local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center to apply, and after a review by the city or county, the final eligibility for use will be determined.
