Up to 20cm or more of snow is expected to fall in Gwangju and Jeonnam by tomorrow.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 23rd, the expected snowfall is 5 to 15 cm in western Gwangju and Jeonnam (with some areas receiving more than 20 cm), and 2 to 8 cm in eastern Jeonnam.
As of 12 PM that day, the highest snowfall in Gwangju was 13 cm in Gwangsan-gu. In Jeonnam, Jangseong recorded the most snow with 14.1 cm.
A heavy snow warning is currently in effect for Jangseong, Gwangju, and Jeonnam.
A heavy snow advisory has been issued for 15 cities and counties in Jeonnam (Gangjin, Boseong, Jangheung, Gokseong, Hwasun, Damyang, Haenam, Sinan, Jindo, Naju, Mokpo, Yeongam, Muan, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang).
Cloud bands formed by the temperature difference between the atmosphere and sea surface over the West Sea are moving inland, bringing strong snow along with severe cold.
On that morning, the lowest temperatures in Gwangju and Jeonnam ranged from -8.5 to -3.3 degrees Celsius, and the highest daytime temperatures are expected to range from -4 to 0 degrees Celsius.
The next morning's lowest temperatures are forecasted to be between -8 and -2 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs ranging from -1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

A Gwangju Meteorological Administration official urged, "Since a very large amount of snow is expected, please check traffic conditions in advance and thoroughly prepare winter equipment when using vehicles."
