On the 16th, 13 Dream Start children visited LG Uplus Yongsan headquarters to experience digital transformation solutions and employee welfare... Providing motivation through workplace experience... Information education for multicultural family parents by Dream Start also scheduled for the first half of this year
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Hee-young) partnered with local company LG Uplus (CEO Hwang Hyun-sik) on the 16th to provide workplace experience opportunities for children from vulnerable groups.
As part of the Dream Start project, which conducts child-centered case management to ensure children grow up with equal starting opportunities, this year customized experiences and education linked with local companies were prepared.
The workplace experience event was attended by 13 sixth-grade elementary students beginning to consider their career paths, and proceeded in the order of ▲ experiencing the digital transformation solution ‘Biz DX+’ ▲ employee welfare ▲ and a roundtable discussion.
Dream Start children visited six zones in the Biz DX+ experience center, including ▲ integrated control center ▲ production and facility monitoring ▲ carbon emissions and physical security ▲ new wired and wireless solutions, personally experiencing LG Uplus’s business-to-business (B2B) operations.
Student Lee Ji-ho (12 years old), who participated that day, said, “It was amazing to see robots working,” and added, “I want to study hard to be able to come here.”
They also got a taste of the welfare benefits enjoyed by LG Uplus employees. They used equipment and took lessons at the gym exclusively for employees, warming up their bodies. Lunch was also provided at the employee cafeteria.
During the roundtable, Dream Start children showed motivation through the LG Uplus workplace experience by asking questions such as “What specific work would I do if I joined here?” and sharing feedback like “It was really fun to try various exercises in the gym with a great view.”
The district plans to conduct smartphone education for parents of multicultural families linked with LG Uplus once a month for three sessions from March to May. LG Uplus employee volunteers will provide information education on using smartphones for ▲ smart banking ▲ navigation ▲ signing up for various websites ▲ identity verification, etc. This program is prepared to help foreign parents settle stably in Korean life.
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, “The happiness of families also involves the responsibility and role of the local community,” and added, “We thank LG Uplus for their support, and the district will continue to support the independence of Dream Start families through various corporate-linked programs.”
