LifeSemantics announced on the 22nd that it has acquired the health management application (app) PaprikaCare through a public auction and will begin providing an acquired digital health platform.
With this acquisition, LifeSemantics has taken over all data including PaprikaCare’s services and member information. PaprikaCare is a health management app that provides information on diseases and medications, medication precautions, medication reminders, medical record management, and medication management. Its main feature, medication management, automatically informs users of the number of days to take prescribed medication when they register photos of prescriptions or medicine bags in the app, and also provides medical information such as disease history, medical institutions visited, and medications currently being taken.
LifeSemantics plans to offer a digital health platform by integrating PaprikaCare’s accumulated 230,000 members’ prescription and medication management records with its own personal health record (PHR) platform, LifeRecord. LifeSemantics’ digital health platform aims to be a single medical MyData platform integrating various digital healthcare services.
Kim Boram, head of the Internet Software & Services (ISS) division at LifeSemantics, said, “With this acquisition, LifeSemantics has secured PaprikaCare’s health management functions and data of 230,000 members, gaining new competitiveness,” adding, “The secured data can be utilized for developing new artificial intelligence (AI) services, recommending and subdividing health supplements optimized for individuals, and is expected to create synergy across LifeSemantics’ various business areas.”
