Kim Seonghwan: "I will make Dongnam-eul the center of Gwangju"

Kim Seong-hwan, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for the Gwangju Dong-gu Nam-gu Eul constituency in the general election, held an opening ceremony for his election office on the 20th and revealed the reasons for his candidacy and his future plans.

Preliminary candidate Kim Seong-hwan held the 'Communication Camp Opening Ceremony' at Deokin Building on Cheonbyeonwoo-ro, Dong-gu, Gwangju. Despite the rainy and bad weather, about 1,000 local residents gathered, creating a packed and prosperous event, while many politicians conveyed their congratulations in various ways.


Jang Kyung-tae, Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won, National Assembly members Kim Min-seok and Kim Seung-nam congratulated the opening ceremony through video messages. Min Hyung-bae, a National Assembly member who attended in person, emphasized, "Having worked together in President Roh Moo-hyun’s secretariat, I know very well that preliminary candidate Kim Seong-hwan is more capable, competent, and has excellent character than anyone else. If Kim Seong-hwan becomes a member of the National Assembly, he will work hard for the Dong-gu Nam-gu Eul region without distraction."


Additionally, Lee Han-joo, a distinguished professor at Gachon University and mentor to Lee Jae-myung, sent congratulations through a video message. Many prominent figures from various fields also attended to wish for Kim Seong-hwan’s victory, including former Gwangju Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Kim Kwang-jin, Moon Jae-chun, president of the Soongil High School Alumni Association, Jo Ae-ok, former president of the Gwangju Women Entrepreneurs Association, Joo Jong-dae, chairman of the support committee, Kim Seon-wook, president of the Gwangju Disabled Rights Association, and Jeong Young-jin, president of the Gwangju Autonomous Crime Prevention Association.


In his greeting, preliminary candidate Kim Seong-hwan expressed gratitude for the congratulations and pledged to the participants, "I will make Dongnam-eul stand tall once again as the center of Gwangju."
