Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 19th that it has officially launched a 365-day, 24-hour operation system by assigning dedicated personnel to the Disaster Safety Situation Room.

This personnel deployment was promoted to create a safe environment through rapid initial response in the event of a disaster.

Recently, due to natural disasters caused by abnormal weather and various social disasters such as large-scale winter fires and wildfires, the importance of rapid initial response has increased.

Until now, daytime shifts at the Disaster Safety Situation Room were handled by the Resident Safety Division, and nighttime and weekend/holiday shifts were managed by the duty room, but to enable faster response, dedicated personnel have been assigned, transitioning to a 365-day, 24-hour operation system.

The Disaster Safety Situation Room will carry out disaster prevention activities such as disseminating and reporting situations through emergency disaster messages and village broadcasts when disasters occur, and mobilizing staff for emergency duty in stages.

Gu Bok-gyu, Governor of Hwasun County, said, “Due to the increasing complexity and variety of accidents such as the recent Oseong underpass flooding disaster, summer typhoons and floods, and sudden cold waves in winter, we have established the Disaster Situation Room,” and added, “Please ensure that through strengthened cooperation with related organizations, we respond more quickly and promptly to disaster prevention and recovery so that residents can live in a safe environment.”
