Namwon-si, Jeonbuk, will promote various support projects such as strengthening corporate competitiveness and improving worker welfare to ensure the continuous development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region this year.
According to the city on the 19th, support policies for manufacturing companies include financial support, corporate competitiveness enhancement, worker welfare support, marketing support, and operation of investment advisors.
As a new project this year, the city will operate investment advisors who provide one-stop solutions for procedures that are difficult for civil petitioners, such as factory registration/permits and sales inquiries, and will enact an ordinance to support the disposal costs of fire waste for SMEs in response to sudden fire damage.
In terms of financial support, 8 billion KRW in SME development funds will be provided as interest subsidies to help SMEs struggling with ongoing high interest rates, high prices, and high exchange rates.
The SME development fund support project accepts applications in odd months and selects recipients in even months; detailed information is available via phone or in-person consultation.
To strengthen competitiveness by company, there are projects for SME environmental improvement, support for logistics costs and outsourced wastewater discharge treatment fees, and the city plans to continue a regionally specialized visa program to alleviate local labor shortages.
Additionally, efforts are being made to improve worker welfare in the region, including operating shuttle buses for smooth commuting of workers within the agricultural and industrial complexes, supporting dormitory rental costs to improve workers’ housing conditions, and providing relocation settlement funds and hometown encouragement grants.
Furthermore, the city supports policies that help not only domestic but also export markets, such as supporting participation in domestic and international individual exhibitions, global market marketing support, and sales support through SME online platforms to expand online market channels.
A city official said, “We will strive to create a business-friendly Namwon by exploring various policies that can further support companies in the future.”
Meanwhile, 13 projects were promoted as part of the ‘2023 SME Support Projects,’ and this year, the city plans to continue the corporate mentoring system and communication meetings to listen to corporate suggestions and resolve difficulties.
For detailed information on each project, contact the Namwon-si Corporate Support Division or refer to the public notices on the Namwon-si website.
