The Yeonggwang-gun Youth Culture Center announced on the 18th that it will recruit participants for the 'Understanding Our History: Modern and Contemporary History Edition' program from the 17th to the 24th to help youths form a correct historical awareness and values, and grow into mature citizens.
This program will be conducted online every Saturday from February 27th to March 2nd. The topics are divided into five areas: ▲ Opening of ports and factional politics in the late Joseon Dynasty ▲ Japanese colonial period and domestic and overseas independence movements ▲ Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Patriotic Organization ▲ The situation in the Republic of Korea after liberation ▲ Presidents of the Republic of Korea and democratization movements, all presented in an engaging way suitable for children’s level.
The recruitment target and number of participants are 20 youths aged 11 to 13 residing in the district, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation is completely free of charge. Detailed information can be found on the Youth Culture Center’s Band bulletin board, and applications are accepted online only.
