Fell Down Stairs... 60s Subcontractor Worker Seriously Injured at Geoje Shipyard

At around 1:20 a.m. on the 18th, a subcontractor employee in his 60s working at a shipyard in Jangpyeong-dong, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, fell down stairs and fell into a critical condition.

According to the Geoje Police Station, Mr. A slipped and fell about 3 meters down while descending a steel staircase in the shipbuilding worksite within the shipyard.

A coworker who witnessed the accident informed the company's safety team, and the 119 emergency medical team arrived at the scene after receiving the report from the safety team.

Mr. A, who was seriously injured in the accident, was transported to a hospital for treatment but is reported to be in critical condition.

The police plan to investigate company officials regarding the use of safety equipment and any negligence related to the work.
