Incheon Yeonsu-gu, Recruiting Participants for Dementia Prevention 'Memory Care Project Delivered by Phone'

Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, will begin recruiting participants for the telephone-based cognitive enhancement program "One-on-One Memory Care Delivered by Phone" targeting individuals with cognitive decline and mild cognitive impairment starting from the 18th.

This program is a non-face-to-face cognitive enhancement initiative that provides memory recall training and emotional exchange through telephone media within a familiar home environment for those who have difficulty visiting the Dementia Safety Center, such as individuals with cognitive decline and mild cognitive impairment.

Notably, Yeonsu-gu Dementia Safety Center and the Senior Human Resources Development Center have signed an inter-agency agreement to form a group of 70 memory keepers as Yeonsu-gu senior personnel, which holds great significance in simultaneously managing high-risk dementia groups intensively and creating jobs for the elderly.

The telephone-based cognitive enhancement program will select 250 participants per session and will start on the 1st of next month, operating a total of 4 sessions (1,000 participants). For applications and other inquiries, please contact the Yeonsu-gu Dementia Safety Center.

A Yeonsu-gu official stated, "The Memory Care project is expected to help improve cognitive function and emotional stability, maintain daily living, and reduce the caregiving cost burden for dementia patients," adding, "We will continue to cooperate with community organizations to do our best in dementia prevention and management and develop various programs to create a dementia-safe city."
