Eunpyeong-gu Supports Installation of Energy-Saving 'LED Signboards' for Small Business Owners

Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will implement an energy-saving ‘LED Signboard Installation Support’ project to alleviate the economic burden on small-scale self-employed business owners, remove illegal advertisements, and improve the urban landscape.

The ‘LED Signboard Installation Support’ project aims to organize illegally and disorderly proliferated signboards and improve them into beautiful signboards that reflect local characteristics to revitalize the local commercial district.

The support target is small-scale self-employed business owners with business premises under 99㎡ (30 pyeong). Those who have newly made or installed signboards due to opening, changing business type, or relocating business premises after December 1 of last year, or existing business operators who replace old or illegal signboards with LED signboards can apply.

Eunpyeong-gu will support up to 1 million KRW per business for installation costs for 150 businesses, and any excess costs must be borne by the advertiser.

Applicants can visit the Urban Planning Division of Eunpyeong-gu Office to submit application documents. Applications are accepted until the end of December this year and will close early if the budget is exhausted.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “We hope the LED Signboard Installation Support project will ease the economic burden on small-scale self-employed business owners and serve as a stepping stone to establish a proper advertising culture,” and added, “We look forward to many applications from small-scale self-employed business owners.”
