Total Scale of 500 Million KRW... Up to 30 Million KRW Support per Project
On the 18th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will carry out the '2024 Gender Equality Fund Public Contest Project' with a total scale of 500 million KRW this year, promoting policies to spread a culture of gender equality through joint cooperation with private organizations possessing expertise and capabilities.
The Gender Equality Fund Public Contest Project supports initiatives needed throughout our society by reflecting diverse voices to create a culture and environment of gender equality. This year, the contest project will focus on two areas: 'Family,' for creating gender-equal care and culture, and 'Safety,' for preventing gender-based violence and supporting victims. The total support amount is 500 million KRW, with up to 30 million KRW provided per project.
Interested organizations can apply through the Local Subsidy Management System from 9 a.m. on the 19th until 6 p.m. on the 8th of next month.
Eligibility for application is limited to non-profit organizations or non-profit corporations based in Seoul that operate with the purpose of spreading a culture of gender equality. Each organization (institution) may apply for one project, and consortium member organizations are also considered to have applied for one project.
Meanwhile, Seoul selects projects that align with the purpose of the Gender Equality Fund Public Contest Project and discover innovative business models as exemplary cases every year. As a result of the 2024 project evaluation, four organizations including '(Sa) Bulgyo Academy' were selected as outstanding institutions, and these cases will be used as promotional and educational materials through workshops and performance sharing sessions.
Kim Seon-sun, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Women and Family Policy Office, stated, “Seoul has been striving to create a gender-equal society. This year’s Gender Equality Fund Public Contest Project will be solidly promoted through cooperation with capable private organizations, focusing on the ‘Safety’ and ‘Family’ sectors such as care and violence, so that citizens can experience a culture of gender equality in their daily lives.” She added, “We will strengthen consulting, management, and evaluation to ensure that selected organizations operate subsidies transparently and responsibly, and will continuously monitor them.”
