Korea Press Foundation "Expanding Overseas Long-term Training for Journalists from 5 to 10 Participants"

The Korea Press Foundation announced on the 17th that the number of long-term overseas training selections for current journalists will be increased from 5 to 10. Eligible candidates must have worked for at least 7 years, and will be provided with a one-year training opportunity at an overseas educational institution.

According to the Press Foundation, the announcement will be made around the end of this month or early next month, and the selected candidates will be announced around the end of March. Applicants must obtain separate admission approval from the overseas institution before applying for the training program.

This year's project budget is 95 billion KRW, an increase of about 5.8% compared to last year. Approximately 8.3 billion KRW is allocated to the 'Support for High-Quality News Content Production' sector, about 2.3 billion KRW to the 'Strengthening Reporting Capabilities' sector, about 10.9 billion KRW to the 'Improvement of National Media Literacy' sector, about 9.6 billion KRW to the 'Digital Innovation of News Media' sector, and about 29.3 billion KRW to the 'Co-Growth with the Private Sector' sector.
