Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is accepting applications for subsidy support projects and loan support projects to assist new farmers who have moved to Cheongsong-gun with their initial settlement.
The subsidy support projects include the ‘Cheongsong-gun New Farmer Support Project’ and the ‘Gyeongbuk Province New Farmer Settlement Support Project.’ The support per household includes ▲ 4 million KRW for farming settlement funds ▲ 4 million KRW for housing construction and repair costs ▲ 15 million KRW interest support for farmland purchase (for 3 years) ▲ 2 million KRW tax support for farmland purchase ▲ 300,000 KRW support for new farmer-related course fees.
The loan support projects include agricultural startup and housing purchase support for new farmers, as well as the New Farmer Rural Development Fund support project. Selected applicants can receive loans at a low interest rate of 1 to 1.5%, with up to 300 million KRW for agriculture-related purposes and up to 75 million KRW for housing-related purposes.
Additionally, the guidelines for the agricultural startup and housing purchase support projects for new farmers have been revised, allowing support for those planning to move in from this year. Restrictions such as education performance and working in other industrial sectors have been partially eased, enabling more new farmers and prospective new farmers to benefit.
Detailed information can be found on the county office website, and applications along with required documents must be submitted to the local town or township office by January 26.
County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “I hope that the various support projects of Cheongsong-gun will be of some help to new farmers,” and added, “I wish all new farmers a successful settlement.”
