Former Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Party, Lee Jeong-geun, who was prosecuted for violating the Public Official Election Act during the March 2022 by-elections and the June local elections, was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year probation in the first trial.
The Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 27 (Presiding Judge Kim Ok-gon) held the first trial sentencing hearing for former Deputy Secretary-General Lee on the 17th and sentenced him to one year in prison with a two-year probation and a fine of 2 million KRW.
