This year, public institutions will hire more than 24,000 new employees.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance held the "2024 Public Institution Recruitment Information Fair" over two days starting on the 17th at the aT Center in Yangjae, Seocho-gu, Seoul, announcing the new recruitment plans for public institutions this year. The scale of new recruitment by public institutions this year has increased by 10% compared to the previous year.
A record number of 151 institutions participated in this recruitment fair, including Korea Electric Power Corporation, Industrial Bank of Korea, Korea Railroad Corporation, and National Health Insurance Service.
Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, emphasized the active role of public institutions despite difficult employment conditions in his opening remarks, stating that incentives for management evaluations will be established to encourage active new recruitment efforts by public institutions, and that budget and personnel support will not be spared.
He also stressed efforts for balanced and fair recruitment by expanding youth intern hiring compared to last year and actively ensuring the implementation of the raised mandatory employment rate target for persons with disabilities (3.8%) starting this year.
In addition to popular existing programs such as the National Competency Standards (NCS) mock test and personality tests, the fair introduced many new contents that meet the high demand of job seekers.
Job seekers visiting the event can receive vivid recruitment information and know-how from current public institution HR officers at each institution’s consultation booth. They can gain practical experience through public mock interviews, which are being resumed after three years. One-on-one all-in-one consulting was also doubled to eight locations compared to last year.
Furthermore, the event was diversified by newly adding a "High School Graduate Recruitment Consulting Seminar" and a "Successful Applicants’ Cover Letter Public Bulletin Board." A directory book that allows a comprehensive view of recruitment information by institution will be produced and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Job seekers who cannot attend the fair can also participate via online live streaming through the website.
