For traditional markets, the inspection will focus on compliance with legal safety standards in areas such as architecture, gas, electricity, and firefighting, as well as the status of fire prevention equipment, fire compartments, and maintenance of evacuation facilities and escape routes. Additionally, price labeling practices will be checked at large and small stores, convenience stores, and neighborhood supermarkets.

In relation to electric shock accidents that occurred at bathhouses in other regions, a focused safety inspection of bathhouses will also be conducted.

The Health and Hygiene Division, together with experts in electricity and firefighting, will visit nine bathhouses with a total floor area of over 1,000㎡ to inspect the condition of electrical wiring, operation of leakage circuit breakers, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical rooms.

Furthermore, safety inspections will be carried out on welfare facilities and aging apartment complexes, as well as on local movie theaters and the Gwangju General Bus Terminal, which are frequently used by many people. Inspections of livestock product hygiene and radiation testing and collection of seafood to ensure safe food will also be conducted.

Kim Hyunnam, Director of Safety General Affairs, stated, “We will provide on-site guidance for issues that can be immediately corrected, and complete repairs and reinforcements for other identified issues before the Lunar New Year holiday to thoroughly ensure the safety of citizens.”
