Incheon Yeonsu-gu Secures 200 Million KRW Special Grant for Establishing Rehabilitation Platform for Brain Lesions and Brain Diseases

Expansion and Relocation of Rehabilitation Health Room for Disabled Persons
Establishment of ICT Experience Zone for Dementia Patients

Yeonsu-gu, Incheon announced on the 16th that it has secured 200 million KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the establishment of a brain lesion and brain disease rehabilitation platform.

The secured budget will be used for the expansion and relocation construction of the Disabled Rehabilitation Health Room at the Songdo Health Living Support Center and the creation of an ICT experience zone for smart brain health management for dementia patients.

The district plans to relocate the Disabled Rehabilitation Health Room to the first floor to ensure safety through rapid evacuation in case of fire or disaster, and subdivide the rehabilitation health room into a rehabilitation therapy zone and an occupational therapy zone to build a more specialized and integrated rehabilitation treatment service system.

Additionally, an ICT experience zone for cognitive enhancement using AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), and MR (Mixed Reality) will be created to lead dementia prevention among residents through enjoyable and smart brain health management.

Meanwhile, the Songdo Health Living Support Center has been well received as a resident-oriented experiential program supporting the physical and mental health of residents, led by the disabled rehabilitation health project.

As a result, in 2023, it won the top prize in the disabled health management project category among 128 locations nationwide evaluated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and was selected as an excellent institution among 82 health living support centers nationwide.

A Yeonsu-gu official stated, "Securing the special grant not only reduced the district’s financial burden but also allowed us to renovate the space into one that restores and promotes the health of local residents through the expansion construction of the disabled rehabilitation health room and the creation of the dementia prevention ICT experience zone."
