G2 Power is showing strength. It is interpreted to be influenced by President Yoon Suk-yeol's statement the day before that nuclear power plants should be expanded to ensure stable power supply necessary for supporting industries such as semiconductor development.
As of 1:55 PM on the 16th, G2 Power is trading at 9,170 KRW, up 5.04% compared to the previous day.
At the 'Semiconductor Industry Enriching People's Livelihoods' public discussion held at the Semiconductor Hall of Sungkyunkwan University Natural Science Campus in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province the day before, President Yoon stated, "Nuclear power is essential for fostering the semiconductor industry," adding, "If we abandon nuclear power, we must give up not only semiconductors but also advanced industries."
President Yoon mentioned, "Installing one semiconductor foundry line requires one 1.3GW nuclear power plant," referring to the Samsung Electronics site in Giheung, and pointed out, "It took more than 10 years just to build the power transmission system." He emphasized the need for high-quality and stable power supply to build data centers and promote electric vehicle distribution, stating, "Nuclear power is now essential."
He further added, "If we abandon nuclear power, we must give up not only semiconductors but also advanced industries," and said, "Although this is beyond semiconductors, the nuclear power industry must continue to develop to enrich our people's livelihoods."
Meanwhile, G2 Power is a company engaged in energy-related businesses such as manufacturing switchboards and solar power generation systems based on Condition Monitoring Diagnosis (CMD). It has obtained the Korea Electric Power Industry Code (KEPIC) certification. Through acquiring the KEPIC certification, it is known to have been recognized for its technical capability to design and manufacture high-voltage and low-voltage switchgear and motor control panels that can be used in nuclear power plants.
