AI SPERA Co., Ltd. (CEO: Kang Byung-tak), a specialist company in cyber threat intelligence, announced on the 16th that it signed a mutual strategic partnership agreement (MOU) on the 15th with the law firm Hwawoo (Representative Lawyer: Lee Myung-soo, hereinafter Hwawoo) to jointly devise response measures and establish a cooperative system against illegal digital content and distribution.

AI SPERA detects websites distributing illegal digital content by utilizing the global IP address-based cyber threat intelligence search engine, "Criminal IP." Hwawoo undertakes and handles subsequent legal actions to practically resolve copyright infringement issues caused by the detected illegal content distribution sites.

Through this agreement, both parties plan to promote the "Illegal Digital Content Response Project" to establish more effective countermeasures against the distribution of illegal content infringing copyrights of various digital contents such as games, videos, e-books, and webtoons, thereby building a close and organic cooperative system.

Furthermore, they intend to conduct joint seminars and promotional activities for responding to illegal digital content and to strengthen efforts to pioneer and expand business areas related to copyright law violations.

The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Jong-il, Senior Expert of the Protection Division of the National Intellectual Property Committee; Jang Jun-won, a member who previously served as a cyber instructor dispatched by Interpol for illegal content response and former head of the Cyber Investigation Team at the National Police Agency; AI SPERA CEO Kang Byung-tak, CTO Kim Hwi-gang, CMO Jeon Ok-hee; and Hwawoo’s Representative Lawyer Lee Myung-soo along with lawyers Seol Ji-hye, Lee Geun-woo, and Choi Chan-young.

AI SPERA CEO Kang Byung-tak expressed, “Even if we detect copyright infringement sites in real-time and send warning letters, malicious sites keep emerging rapidly by borrowing other domains. Through the MOU with Hwawoo, we can provide smooth legal responses to our clients, which we expect to be a step closer to a fundamental countermeasure.”

Meanwhile, "Criminal IP" is a search engine that can detect cyber threat information through search and API integration, with members from about 150 countries. It provides enterprise security solutions such as attack surface management and fraud detection systems, while continuously expanding its global network by forming partnerships with cybersecurity companies from 16 countries, including Cisco, VirusTotal, and Snowflake. Recently, it registered the technology for "IP-based security monitoring method and system" as a U.S. patent and demonstrated its global technological competitiveness by signing a technical alliance with Tenable’s U.S. headquarters.
