From the 15th to the 19th, over 250 middle school Taekwondo athletes belonging to Paldohoe (President Yoon Seok-yong) nationwide are conducting winter training camps in Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Lee Nam-chul).
Paldohoe is a group composed of elite Taekwondo coaches from middle schools across the country. This training involved participants from eight cities and provinces including Seoul (Gwangnam Middle School), Gyeonggi (Pungsaeng Middle School, Songtan Middle School), Daejeon (Daejeon Chejung Middle School, Ojeong Middle School), Chungnam (Gwangcheon Middle School), Chungbuk (Cheongju Middle School), Jeonbuk (Gunsan Dongwon Middle School), Gyeongnam (Seokdong Middle School), and Gyeongbuk (Sangmo Middle School, Gimcheon Middle School). In Goryeong-gun, athletes from Ssangnim Middle School participated.
The athletes are conducting basic physical fitness and mental strength training using the Jusan hiking trail course located at the Goryeong Jisandong Burial Mounds, which were registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site last year. Through systematic training including image training, character education, and team competition evaluations, they plan to refine their skills.
On the 15th, Governor Lee Nam-chul visited the training site to encourage the athletes, saying, “We welcome all the athletes visiting Goryeong-gun, the city of World Heritage.” He added, “I hope you can improve your skills while interacting with each other during the training period.”
