Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has been selected for two projects in the ‘2024 Folk Life Museum Cooperation Network Project’ organized by the National Folk Museum of Korea.

The ‘Folk Life Museum Cooperation Network Project,’ promoted by the National Folk Museum of Korea since 2005, is a program that supports joint special exhibitions, education development and operation, and other activities to strengthen the capabilities of regional museums and establish a foundation for cultural development.

In this project competition, Changnyeong Museum was selected for the ‘Visiting Children’s Museum’ program, which receives support from the National Folk Museum of Korea for an exhibition bus and education instructors, while Bibong-ri Shell Midden Exhibition Hall was selected in the ‘Education Operation Support’ category to support the educational operations of regional museums.

As a cooperating institution for the ‘Visiting Children’s Museum,’ Changnyeong Museum plans to operate an exhibition bus called the ‘Mysterious Magic Room,’ which displays world dolls and offers educational programs tailored to local culture and school curricula for local children in October. Related experiential education will also be conducted.

At Bibong-ri Shell Midden Exhibition Hall, the ‘Bibong-ri Exploration Life’ education program will be operated for upper-grade elementary school students on the last Wednesday of every month from March to November.

A representative of Changnyeong Museum stated, “Changnyeong-gun’s public museums are striving to provide enjoyable experiences for visitors through a variety of programs,” and added, “We ask for the interest and participation of the residents in this educational project.”

Meanwhile, detailed information about this event can be found on the Changnyeong Museum website.
