Jeongeup-si to Recruit Participants for 'Byeolbyeolkkum Talent Voucher' Until the 2nd of Next Month

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk is recruiting candidates for the ‘Byeolbyeolkkum Talent Voucher Support Project’ until the 2nd of next month.

According to the city on the 16th, the Byeolbyeolkkum Talent Voucher Support Project is a program that supports academy fees for subjects such as art, music, dance, and technology, excluding those selected as regular school subjects.

The eligible applicants are 450 elementary, middle, and high school students residing in Jeongeup City from low-income families (including near-poverty class), multicultural families, and families with three or more children.

If selected, from March to November, students can receive support for academy fees in entertainment and technical subjects registered as affiliated stores of the voucher project.

The maximum support amount is 150,000 KRW. If the academy fee is 150,000 KRW, the city supports 90,000 KRW, and the academy supports 45,000 KRW.

The student only needs to pay 15,000 KRW. If the academy fee exceeds 150,000 KRW, the student's self-payment increases by the excess amount.

The city plans to help children and youth who need after-school care to grow up healthily by providing education as well as linking care and welfare services.

It is especially expected to help low-income youth find their aptitude through career exploration and obtaining certifications, which had been lacking.

Applications can be made at the administrative welfare centers in the applicant’s town, township, or neighborhood.

Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “Through welfare projects that expand learning opportunities, we will ensure that all youth growing up in Jeongeup can nurture their dreams without exclusion,” adding, “We hope this will help them choose careers suited to their aptitudes and realize their dreams.”
