Kakao has appointed Hwang Tae-seon, a standing member of the Management Innovation Committee, as the general representative of the CA Council, the group's control tower.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 16th, Kakao announced this information the day before.
The CA Council is an independent organization that coordinates internal interests within the Kakao Group and forms consensus. It plans to have multiple committees, including the Management Innovation Committee and a Strategy Committee that reviews key performance indicators (KPIs) and investments of each affiliated company. Kim Beom-su, Kakao's founder and chairman of the Management Innovation Committee, and Jeong Sin-ah, the appointed CEO of Kakao, serve as co-chairs.
General Representative Hwang Tae-seon will support the operation and activities of the CA Council and its committees, assist with group personnel matters such as executive appointments, and support the monthly group council operations. Hwang Tae-seon joined Kakao in 2018 as head of the Strategy Support Team and has served as a standing member of the Management Innovation Committee since October last year.
After organizing the subordinate working organizations in detail, the CA Council plans to hold monthly group councils starting next month. Important matters will be directly decided by the CA Council and CEOs of major affiliates.
