January 22?February 5 Communication Meetings with Representatives of 15 Neighborhoods at District Office
Sharing Implementation Status of Last Year's On-Site District Office Resident Proposals and Seeking Improvement Plans
Committed to Realizing Field-Centered Communication and Participatory Administration through Communication Channels
Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) will hold a 'Resident Communication Meeting' at the district office from January 22 to February 5.
This is to review the progress of resident proposals that emerged from last year's 'One-day On-site District Office' with the residents.
Since September to November last year, Mayor Kim Gil-seong visited all 15 neighborhoods to listen to the vivid voices from the field and held passionate discussions with residents to resolve local issues. They received about 280 various resident proposals including installation of heated slopes, revitalization of local commercial districts, installation of transportation facilities, smoking control, and improvement of living environment. Among them, 55 proposals were answered on-site, 53 have been resolved so far, and the remaining 132 will be implemented promptly once the budget is secured or the project period arrives.
At the 'Resident Communication Meeting,' 7 to 10 residents from each neighborhood will attend to receive reports on the implementation results of resident proposals for their respective neighborhoods. If there are difficulties in project promotion, they will discuss solutions together with the district office. This meeting reflects the district's strong will not to just listen to residents' proposals once and end, but to immediately promote feasible proposals and share the entire process with residents. As the new policy brand of Jung-gu, 'Always a Reliable Ally, Jung-gu,' suggests, the purpose is to listen carefully to residents' voices and properly reflect them in district administration.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong stated, "In Jung-gu, there will never be a case of ignoring residents' voices," and added, "We will thoroughly check and share the implementation status until every valuable opinion is fully executed."
