Dobong-gu Announces New Systems Changing This Year on Official Website... Introducing 22 Projects Across 7 Areas Including Childcare, Children, Youth, and Economy... Strengthening Birth and Parenting Programs Like the 'First Meeting Voucher' Draws Attention
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) provides an overview of the new or changed systems for this year through the district's official website under the title "2024 Dobong-gu Changing Systems."
The changing systems cover 22 projects across seven key areas related to residents' lives: ▲Childcare ▲Children ▲Youth ▲Economy ▲Education & Welfare ▲Resident Support ▲Autonomy.
Childbirth and parenting programs aimed at overcoming the low birthrate phase are being strengthened. The "First Meeting Voucher," which previously provided 2 million KRW per newborn regardless of birth order, will be expanded to 2 million KRW for the first child and 3 million KRW for the second child and beyond, depending on birth order.
Parental allowance support for parents raising infants previously categorized as 0 years old (under 11 months) and 1 year old (12 to 23 months) has also been increased to 1 million KRW and 500,000 KRW respectively.
Additionally, the "Choan Kkum Maru Children's Restaurant" (458-1 Chang-dong, Dobong-gu) aimed at preventing malnutrition among children of dual-income families and low-income vulnerable groups is scheduled to open in May this year. It will provide dinner during the school term (lunch during vacations) at a cost of 2,500 KRW per meal.
Spaces supporting youth employment and entrepreneurship are also notable. The "Dobong-gu Youth Startup Center" (4th floor, Seed Cube Chang-dong Office Building) equipped with startup spaces and multipurpose studios, and the "Dobong-gu Youth Employment Support Center" (1st floor, Dobong-gu Office) featuring interview experience rooms, suit rental rooms, and study cafes, are set to open in April and May respectively.
To continuously promote and sell products from Dobong-gu’s representative industry, sock manufacturing, the "Dobong Sock Sales Support Center" will open around April. The center will include a sales exhibition hall, offices, and community rooms.
Various projects supporting the living conditions of vulnerable groups in the region will also be actively pursued. For the first time this year, the "Heat-Reflective Paint Coating Project (Cool Roof & Cool Wall)" will be implemented to minimize damage from climate crises such as heatwaves. Up to 2.4 million KRW per household will be supported for 10 households including basic livelihood security recipients.
Also newly introduced is the "Home Medical Care Project." Medical aid recipients discharged from medical institutions can receive medical and related services worth up to 600,000 KRW per month for up to two years.
The number of applications for the "Living Stability Fund Loan" for low-income households will be expanded from four times a year to five times a year (February, May, July, September, November).
More detailed information is available on the Dobong-gu website (Notice Board → Changing Systems), and inquiries can be made by calling the responsible department.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "We hope residents will refer to the '2024 Dobong-gu Changing Systems' to receive more benefits and assistance. The district will continue to improve existing systems and develop new ones to enrich the lives of our residents."
