Yeongam-gun Ranks First Nationwide in Hometown Love Donation Amount in December Last Year

Raised 707 Million Won... Leading Rational Donations

Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) achieved first place nationwide in hometown love donation fundraising in December last year.


According to the county on the 15th, under the hometown love donation system first implemented in 2023, Yeongam-gun raised more than 1.236 billion KRW from 8,798 cases over the past year.


Among these, in December alone, they raised 770 million KRW from 6,703 cases, accounting for 57% of the total, which corresponds to the highest amount raised among basic local governments nationwide in December.


By donation channel, 2,970 cases amounting to 328 million KRW were raised through Hometown Love e-um, and over 3,733 cases amounting to 379 million KRW were raised through private information systems.

Regarding these achievements, Yeongam-gun analyzed that the efforts to thoroughly prepare, such as implementing value donations and changing the gift system, anticipating that rational and economical donations for tax deductions would concentrate at the end of the year, have borne fruit.


First, Yeongam-gun expanded the hometown love donation system by designating the system of donating collectively to the region without specific purpose or usage as ‘value donation,’ investing it in special public projects in the region.


Under the name of the ‘Newborn Survival Guarantee Yeongam Mom (mom) Safety Project,’ fundraising was conducted by designating donations for purchasing medical equipment for the public postpartum care center through the private information system, moving the hearts of donors nationwide who wish for a better world to raise children.


In this donation, the private information system utilized its marketing techniques to increase the exposure frequency of related terms such as ‘hometown love donation system,’ ‘Yeongam-gun,’ and ‘postpartum care center’ in big data.


Additionally, it took charge of tasks such as customer, inventory, and quality management, helping Yeongam-gun focus on hometown love donation-related administration and forming regional networks.


Furthermore, Yeongam-gun held meetings with gift product companies and, through consultations, implemented an additional gift product giveaway as a year-end event for the December donation system.


Yeongam Maeryeok Hanwoo, boasting the nation’s best meat quality and savory flavor from plum-fed cattle, increased the gift amount from 220g to 300g, and added 200g of beef for bulgogi or 0.8ℓ of beef bone broth.


‘Dalmagi Rice,’ selected 17 times as one of Jeonnam’s top 10 high-quality brand rices, and ‘Hak-i Meomun Rice,’ produced in the clean area of Yeongam, provided an additional 1kg per 10kg.


Until mid-December last year, Yeongam-gun’s highest daily fundraising amount was below 20 million KRW.


When Yeongam-gun’s value donation, the private information system’s marketing, and the additional gift product event coincided, fundraising exceeded 60 million KRW in a single day on December 29 last year.


A county official stated, “The fundraising amount, which was only about 500 million KRW until November last year, created a synergy effect as various efforts coincided in December,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various measures to operate the hometown love donation system that brings more fulfillment, joy, and happiness to rational donors nationwide.”
