Jeonnam Province Showcases Technology of Jeonnam Companies at First CES Participation

Promotion of Investment Appeal... $178 Million Export Agreement

Jeonnam Province participated for the first time in the world’s largest home appliance and information technology (IT) exhibition, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), showcasing the technological capabilities of Jeonnam companies, promoting the region’s investment appeal, and achieving export agreements worth $178 million.


According to Jeonnam Province on the 14th, the province operated the Jeonnam Pavilion at the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, USA, for four days until the 12th (local time). It showcased innovative products and technologies from 11 local companies and conducted export consultations worth $213 million with buyers from 22 countries.

The Jeonnam Pavilion was set up in the Westgate exhibition hall, covering an area of 216㎡. Participating companies included BK Energy, Nuriplex, TDL Co., Ltd., Kalsun Co., Ltd. in the energy sector; Human IT Solution Co., Ltd., Software Convergence Research Institute Co., Ltd. in the digital health sector; IT Convergence Co., Ltd., IOT Plus Co., Ltd. in the smart farm sector; and Low Carbon Co., Ltd. in the carbon zero sector.


Among the participating companies, three companies specializing in Renewable Energy 100 (RE100), carbon zero, and artificial intelligence (AI) achieved export agreements worth $178 million with buyers from six countries including the United States, Canada, Nigeria, and Bermuda. Software Convergence Research Institute Co., Ltd., which developed an AI-based product capable of measuring blood sugar without drawing blood, signed an export agreement worth $2.3 million with a U.S. buyer and a technology agreement with a Hong Kong buyer.


BK Energy’s rotary floating solar power system is over 10% more energy-efficient than fixed systems and has significantly reduced failure rates. As a result, it secured export agreements worth approximately $170 million with buyers from three countries.


Additionally, Jeonnam Province attracted great attention by providing Jeonnam specialty products such as seaweed, pear juice, and citron juice?available for purchase in the U.S.?to visitors who toured all 11 company booths. In 2025, the province plans to promote Jeonnam’s food culture, including gimbap and kimchi.


During the exhibition, a “New Technology Presentation” was held by inviting global venture investors. At this event, 11 innovative Jeonnam companies introduced their new technologies and engaged in networking activities to attract investment.


Plug and Play (PNP), which supports the global innovative growth of Jeonnam companies, listened to Human IT Solution’s digital healthcare technology presentation and introduced the company to the well-known mid-sized company S, laying the groundwork for joint domestic and international business initiatives between the two companies.


Moreover, promotional videos showcasing Jeonnam’s diverse attractions such as energy, investment attraction, and tourism were screened, enhancing the brand value of Jeonnam. In addition, networking was strengthened with representatives from global companies including POSCO, Samsung, LG, Hyundai Motor, Kia, HD Hyundai, and John Deere, discussing investment attraction and business cooperation in new energy sectors such as data centers, AI advanced agricultural machinery, mobility manufacturing, and hydrogen.


Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, stated, “We have gained confidence that the fierce challenges and innovations of Jeonnam companies can succeed in the global market,” adding, “We will continue to actively support many innovative companies to grow into unicorn companies through overseas expansion.”


Meanwhile, on the 10th, Governor Kim Young-rok held a town hall meeting with about 20 students from Korea Energy Engineering University at the Jeonnam Pavilion, emphasizing the importance of the spirit of “limitless challenge and innovation,” and said, “Universities must become cradles of innovation and entrepreneurship.” He also presented the vision of a “K-Energy Valley” similar to Silicon Valley in the U.S., stating, “If startups are created within universities, we will operate programs that actively support them.”
