Signed Agreement with Hotel Shilla to Support Startup Guarantee Fees and Table Order Tablets Worth 44 Million KRW
Promoting Mutual Growth through Small and Large Enterprise Cooperation and Contributing to Regional Economic Revitalization
Held 'Our Neighborhood Success' Plaque Unveiling Ceremony on the 9th, Completed Plaque and Tablet Installation
Jung-gu District Office in Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) has joined hands with Hotel Shilla to revive the neighborhood commercial districts.
In November, Jung-gu signed an agreement with Hotel Shilla to install tablets (table order devices) used for ordering in the Jangchungdan-gil alley shopping district and to support small business owners with startup guarantee fees. This initiative aims to promote mutual growth between small and large enterprises and to revitalize the local economy.
The significance of this agreement lies in the collaboration between the private sector, government, and public institutions to ensure the "prosperity" of small business owners. The Jung-gu District Office took charge of administrative procedures such as project planning and selecting beneficiaries. Hotel Shilla (Shilla Duty Free) provided funding, while the Jangchungdan-gil Local Brand Project Group and Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation handled related practical tasks. The total support amount is 44 million KRW, with 24 million KRW allocated for table order tablets in the Jangchungdan-gil alley shopping district and 20 million KRW for small business startup guarantee fees.
The "startup guarantee fee support" is expected to help small business owners establish a stable management foundation by reducing the initial financial burden of starting a business. Eligible recipients are small business owners with workplaces in Jung-gu, with about 25 companies benefiting through quarterly evaluations. Priority will be given to companies whose representatives are Jung-gu residents and those in the manufacturing sector.
Meanwhile, on the 9th at 3 p.m., a plaque unveiling ceremony for the "Our Store Prosperity" initiative was held, attended by Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, Kim Jun-hwan, Executive Director of Hotel Shilla’s Social Contribution Division, Yoon Sang-cheol, President of the Jangchungnamsoyeong-gil Merchants Association, Lee Kwang-seon, CEO of Mubongri Tojong Sundaeguk, and Jeong Gyeong-won, Director of the Jangchungdan-gil Local Brand Project Group.
A total of 60 table order tablets were installed across six stores in the Jangchungdan-gil alley shopping district. Jung-gu plans to continue developing practical support measures that benefit small business owners.
Jangchungdan-gil is one of Jung-gu’s representative commercial districts, known for its excellent transportation accessibility and rich cultural tourism resources such as the National Theater, Jangchung Gymnasium, and Namsoyeong Square, as well as abundant dining options. It was selected in 2022 for the Seoul Local Brand Development Project, through which brand development and various facility improvement projects were carried out, along with hosting diverse festivals and events like the Jangchungdan-gil Food Festival. Sales increased by 30% compared to the previous year, achieving first place among seven Seoul local brand alley commercial districts.
Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, “As the saying goes, if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. Through the agreement between Jung-gu and Hotel Shilla, I hope Jangchungdan-gil will become a tourist attraction that revitalizes nearby commercial districts and attracts tourists. I support the success of Jangchungdan-gil and the small business owners in the district.”
