On the 13th, officials from the Reform New Party announced that the party will hold its founding convention at the National Assembly Members' Office Building's main conference room on the 20th.

The Reform New Party has currently secured over 50,000 members and completed the establishment of party branches in five metropolitan cities and provinces: Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk.

It is still uncertain how the leadership structure will be organized. Some predict that Lee Jun-seok, the chairman of the party's platform and policy committee who played a key role in the founding, will serve as the party leader.

However, on the same day, Chairman Lee stated on Facebook, "There has been no discussion yet on how the leadership structure will be organized once the Reform New Party is launched," adding, "There are many people in our party with sufficient capability to serve as leader."

Chairman Lee officially announced his departure from the People Power Party and the founding of a new party on December 27 of last year. His close associates Cheon Ha-ram, Heo Eun-ah, and Lee Gi-in joined as founding preparation committee chairs, and former lawmaker Kim Yong-nam joined as the strategic planning committee chair.
