This is a course of about 7.7 km from Hwarangdae Station to Yongmasan Kkaldakgogae Rest Area. It takes about 3 hours. It is the fourth course among the 21 courses of 'Seoul Dulle-gil 2.0,' which Seoul City will officially operate starting this April.
The departure point is Exit 5 of Hwarangdae Station in Nowon-gu, Seoul. The stream visible immediately upon exiting the subway is Mukdongcheon. It is called Mukdongcheon because it passes through Mukdong and joins Jungnangcheon. Mukdong, located under Bonghwasan, was a place where ink was made during the Joseon Dynasty, so it was called Meokgol, but it became Mukdong when written in Chinese characters. It was a place famous for producing Meokgol pears.
Following Mukdongcheon, walk past Sinnye Station toward Yangwon Station. Enter Jungnang Camping Forest opposite Exit 2 of Yangwon Station, where the real trekking begins. This area is within a development restriction zone and has been restored from damage caused by vinyl greenhouses, designed as an experiential park themed on school picnics and family picnics. Artificial facilities are minimized, and it is an ecological learning park themed on a healthy forest. With the installation of a small outdoor stage, it is also known as a culture-centered park mainly for youth.
Passing through the forest, at the entrance of Mangusan, there is Mangwoo History Park. It is a cemetery park created on an area of 832,800㎡ around Mangusan. Independence activists such as Han Yong-un, Oh Se-chang, Seo Dong-il, and 17 famous figures including Bang Jeong-hwan, Lee Jung-seop, and Park In-hwan rest here. Before the relocation, the grave of Ahn Chang-ho was also here. Along the walking paths, there are chronicle monuments inscribed with the timelines of the deceased.
After passing Mangwoo History Park, a gentle walking trail unfolds to the destination, Yongmasan Kkaldakgogae Rest Area. Seoul Dulle-gil Course 4 is a course that follows the mountain ridge and is one of the Seoul Dulle-gil courses with the best views. The trail is well maintained, allowing for comfortable trekking.
