Kim Won-seop, KPGA Chairman, Appointed as New Head of Korea Professional Sports Association

Elected at Korea Professional Sports Association General Meeting
Head of 7 Organizations, 2-Year Term Starting from the 12th

Kim Won-seop, chairman of the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA), has been elected as the 6th chairman of the Korea Professional Sports Association.

The Korea Professional Sports Association elected Chairman Kim as the new chairman at the first regular general meeting of 2024 held on the 11th. His term is two years starting from the 12th. Chairman Kim has served as a reporter for Munhwa Ilbo, director of IMG Korea, head of J Golf at JoongAng Media Group, head of Xports, and special advisor to the KBL commissioner. He has worked as an advisor for Pungsan Group and executive director of the First Tee Korea Foundation, and was appointed chairman of the KPGA this year.


The Korea Professional Sports Association was established in 2015 with seven professional sports organizations as members, including the KBO, K League, KBL, WKBL, KOVO, KPGA, and KLPGA. It conducts projects supporting host organizations such as performance evaluations, initiatives to prevent fraud and enhance fairness, training of professional personnel in pro sports, and support projects to improve athletes' rights and interests.
