Foundation Changwon FC Officially Established and Registered... Growing Together with Citizens

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has officially launched the Changwon FC Foundation, with the establishment registration completed on the 10th after more than three years of procedures.

As the existing Changwon City Hall football team was required to incorporate due to the licensing regulations of the Korea Football Association, participation in the league became uncertain without independent incorporation. Accordingly, Changwon City has been steadily promoting the foundation incorporation since the end of March 2021, starting consultations with Gyeongsangnam-do.

During this period, the following were carried out: ▲feasibility study for establishment ▲review and resolution by the Changwon City investment and contribution institution operation committee ▲notification of the review results by the Gyeongnam investment and contribution institution operation committee ▲enactment and promulgation of the ordinance on the establishment and operation of the foundation corporation.

With the related ordinance enacted and promulgated in July last year, the work was actively promoted, including ▲establishment of the foundation Changwon FC establishment and operation plan from August last year to January this year ▲holding the executive recommendation committee (3 times) ▲recruitment and selection of executives ▲holding board meetings (3 times) ▲and establishment of the secretariat.

Changwon FC has set up a secretariat and is organizing the team early by hiring a coach and staff. It plans to focus on community contribution activities, participation in the K3 League for lively football matches, and operating youth programs to run a football club together with citizens.

Seo Jang-wook, head of Changwon FC, said, “We will do our best not only in game performance but also to contribute to the healthy development of local football, sports promotion, and citizen unity as intended by the foundation’s purpose.”

Hong Nam-pyo, mayor and chairman of the Changwon FC Foundation, stated, “With the completion of a professional organization for the sustainable development of the football team, the football base in our city will expand further, and we will actively provide administrative and financial support so that the club can establish itself as a prestigious team loved and supported by citizens.”

Meanwhile, the Changwon FC Foundation has set its vision as “a club growing together with citizens” and its goals as “vibrant matches, developing players, sustainable club, and happy citizens.” It plans to enhance performance through a transparent club operation system, secure the club’s self-sustainability, and strengthen communication with citizens through football in the future.
