Popular Domestic Streamers Go Abroad... AfreecaTV's 'SOOP' Launches in Q2

SOOP represents a free space where various people can communicate through content anytime and anywhere, like a ‘forest’ ecosystem encompassing all components. Its vision is to provide a virtuous cycle structure for the streaming business where streamers, users, and partners can freely participate and grow together.

AfreecaTV plans to expand SOOP’s influence by launching global platform services focused on the Southeast Asian market and eSports content. It will add new SOOP content to AfreecaTV’s existing global content. The global expansion of streamers currently active on AfreecaTV will also be actively supported through simultaneous broadcasting on SOOP.

The global beta version of SOOP will be available in English, Thai, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Through future major feature updates, it will provide services optimized for game and eSports live streaming, such as mobile direct game broadcasting and eSports tournament hosting. Features that further enhance user communication and participation, such as up to 1440p high-definition live streaming and AI chatbots, will also be added.

After launching the global platform SOOP, AfreecaTV plans to change the domestic service name of the AfreecaTV platform to SOOP within the third quarter. It will gradually revamp overall service aspects including BI, UI, domain, and design.
