For Residents of Certain Areas in Pogok and Namsa-eup... Until March 8
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for the 'Compensation for Residents in Military Noise-Affected Areas' until March 8, targeting residents who have been inconvenienced by military aircraft noise.
The target areas include parts of Jeondae, Yuwun, and Samgye-ri in Pogok-eup within the operational radius of Yongin Airfield, and parts of Jinmok-ri in Namsa-eup within the operational radius of Osan Airfield.
Eligible applicants are residents (including foreigners) who were registered and actually lived in the target areas from January 1 to December 31 of last year. Those who lived in the target areas between November 27, 2020, and December 31, 2022, but did not apply for compensation last year can also apply.
The maximum monthly compensation is 30,000 KRW, and the amount is calculated considering the actual residence period, move-in time, employment status, and other factors.
Applicants can download the application form from the 'Notices and Announcements' section on the city’s website, fill it out, and submit it in person or by registered mail to the Yongin City Climate and Air Quality Division. Whether an area is included in the noise control zone can be checked by entering the address on the Ministry of National Defense's 'Military Noise' portal.
