Police Officer Who Commuted by Bus Saves Passenger
The identity of a female passenger who helped a passenger in an emergency situation on an Incheon city bus with sharp observation skills has become a hot topic. On the 9th, the official YouTube channel of the National Police Agency uploaded a video titled "Citizens Who Became Heroes on the Morning Commute Bus." The incident occurred on a city bus in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, last November.
In the video, a female passenger closely watches a man sitting diagonally across from her and, startled, approaches him. As she checks his condition and talks to him, the man gradually loses control of his body and his condition worsens. She calls 119 and reports, "There is an emergency patient. His breathing is unstable." The woman checked the man's belongings and found a bottle of acute angina medication, then immediately informed the paramedics of his medical history.
This woman was a police officer on her way to work at a local police station by bus. Thanks to her help, the man was handed over to the paramedics and transported to the hospital, where he received treatment safely. The bus driver also noticed the man's emergency condition, stopped the bus, and actively cooperated by sharing the location with the paramedics. Other passengers also provided emergency care, such as encouraging the man to breathe, until the paramedics arrived.
The National Police Agency stated, "Because of the police officer who recognized and responded to the emergency patient at a glance, the citizens who stepped up as if it were their own duty, and the everyday heroes among us, we can be safe today as well."
