Busan Yeonpo Elementary School Receives Minister of Education Award for 'Student-Customized Physical Education'

Yeonpo Elementary School in Nam-gu, Busan received the Minister of Education Award in 2023 for its contribution to the activation of school sports in the field of character, physical education, and arts education.

Yeonpo Elementary was honored for its implementation of student-tailored physical education linked with Morning Change and 365+ Physical Activity On programs.

Last year, Yeonpo Elementary operated 10 student-tailored, step-by-step physical education programs, including school-wide morning walking and jump rope activities connected with Morning Change and 365+ Physical Activity On, traditional games programs, and a badminton sports club.

Additionally, the school has worked to revitalize school sports by running autonomous clubs for future-oriented sports programs such as "Meta Sports SCHOOL: Online Physical Education Classroom" and VR·AI Health and Fitness Classes.

As a result, the number of students achieving the highest grade in the student health and fitness evaluation significantly increased compared to the previous year, while the number of students in the fourth grade decreased by 38%. The school also won awards in four events, including 3rd place in the Women's Badminton Superintendent's Cup at the School Sports Club Competition.
