In December last year, the city was selected for two projects under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family’s 2024 national funding: ‘Operation of Integrated Counseling Center for Women Victims of Violence’ and ‘2024 National Funded Project for Integrated Counseling Center Specialized in Digital Sex Crimes.’

The Integrated Counseling Center for Women Victims of Violence is located in Seongsan-gu, and the Integrated Counseling Center Specialized in Digital Sex Crimes is located in Masanhappo-gu.

The counseling centers provide various services to help women who have suffered from stalking, dating violence, digital sex crimes, and other forms of violence maintain a stable life after the crime.

They also support tasks such as accompanying victims to investigative agencies and courts, linking medical and free legal assistance, monitoring and deleting illegally distributed recordings, and more.

Choi Jong-ok, Director of the Women and Family Division, said, “With the transition to integrated counseling centers, we will strengthen the support system for victims in a detailed manner. We will continue to do our best to help victims recover and enhance responses to new types of crimes to create a safe Changwon City.”
