Baemin Robot Expands Business with Kitchen Automation

Signing of Business Agreement (MOU) with ShinStar Presents

Be-Robotics, a subsidiary of Woowa Brothers operating Baemin robots, announced on the 8th that it has signed a comprehensive business agreement (MOU) with food robot development company Shin Star Presents to develop kitchen automation products.

The two companies agreed to develop kitchen automation products suitable for domestic self-employed stores and to start a pilot project. Accordingly, Shin Star Presents will be able to operate its self-developed food robot 'Autowork v2.0' in stores utilizing Baemin robots to secure usage data. Based on this, they plan to further develop cooking robots suitable for use in stores and expand the number of applied stores.

Be-Robotics is a service robot company that started a serving robot rental service at Baedal Minjok in 2019. Since its spin-off in February last year, it has supplied over 2,200 serving robots to more than 1,600 stores and provides serving robot integration solutions. Shin Star Presents develops various food robots and plans to launch a new style of Korean food delivery business in Silicon Valley, California, USA, in the first quarter of this year, where cooking is done unmanned while moving by mounting the robots on trucks.

Kim Min-su, CEO of Be-Robotics, said, "Be-Robotics is implementing store automation in the hall, building an automated system from customer ordering to payment and serving," adding, "Through this agreement, we will be able to extend the automation system beyond the hall to the kitchen and contribute to resolving difficulties in the food service industry."
