Broad Discussion on University Development Directions
Gyeongsang National University announced on the 8th that it held the 2024 Headquarters Department Major Work Reporting Meeting at Sono Calm Geoje, presided over by President Kwon Soon-gi.
The meeting was attended by about 70 people, including President Kwon, the vice president, directors, headquarters chiefs, department and office heads, and responsible staff.
During the work report, a broad discussion on the university's development direction took place, including reviewing the 2023 work performance of each headquarters department and sharing and reviewing major policies and plans for 2024.
In particular, to ensure the smooth execution of projects such as the Glocal University 30 project, the only one selected in Gyeongnam last year, and the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) project, the university plans to focus on ▲ communication and cooperation with Gyeongnam's government, industry, academia, research, public institutions, and military ▲ competency education and the use of generative AI ▲ breaking down various internal and external boundaries ▲ and successfully completing autonomous university integration.
The affiliated institutions' work report was conducted on December 28 last year, and from the 11th, for three days, the university will tour each college to communicate with members, share the university development direction, and listen to difficulties.
President Kwon stated, “In 2024, we will strengthen communication and cooperation not only within the university but also with the local community, overcome the era of declining school-age population and the crisis of regional extinction, and take hopeful steps to grow into ‘Glocal No. 1 University, GNU’ with pride,” and urged, “Each department should do their best to carry out the established tasks thoroughly within the planned period.”
