LG Uplus announced on the 7th that it has made a 10 billion KRW investment in AI-specialized startup FortyTwoMaru and signed a business cooperation agreement.
This investment is the first since CEO Hwang Hyun-sik's reappointment. LG Uplus plans to accelerate the strengthening of new business capabilities such as platforms, AI, and data by expanding strategic investments and collaborations with tech companies this year.

FortyTwoMaru's solutions, used in AI chatbots and more, offer high answer accuracy due to domain specialization for each company. They also reduce AI hallucinations and enable cost savings compared to other solutions.
LG Uplus will jointly conduct AI technology research and development with FortyTwoMaru to advance AI solutions and launch new services. Additionally, they plan to enhance B2B competitiveness by collaborating throughout the entire process from order acquisition to construction and operation in the B2B business.
Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of FortyTwoMaru, said, "Collaboration with LG Uplus will be the best opportunity to accelerate the commercialization of FortyTwoMaru's large-scale AI," adding, "We will establish ourselves as a leading AI company by carrying out various projects such as joint R&D."
