China, marking the '45th Anniversary of US-China Diplomatic Relations,' emphasized the need to build a sustainable relationship with the United States and sent a message asking for respect for its core interests.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 6th, Wang Yi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office of the Chinese Communist Party and Foreign Minister, stated at the '45th Anniversary Reception of US-China Diplomatic Relations' held in Beijing the previous day, "Over the past 45 years, US-China relations have overcome difficulties, excluded interference, and progressed," adding, "Establishing an accurate understanding is an urgent task to uphold mutual respect."

He said, "Based on mutual respect, we want to focus on building a stable, healthy, and sustainable US-China relationship," and "We hope the United States will ease its mindset and respect the choices of the Chinese people, China's development path, China's core interests, and the protection of China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity with an attitude of equality and inclusiveness." He added, "To uphold peaceful coexistence, effectively managing differences is key."

Minister Wang stated, "Peace is the most fundamental foundation of US-China relations, and the fact that the two major powers do not clash or confront each other is itself humanity's most important peace dividend," and "Cooperation is the most accurate choice for US-China coexistence, and in the current situation, the necessity of US-China cooperation has not weakened but strengthened."

He also said, "US-China cooperation is not an optional issue that can be answered yes or no from the two countries to the world, but a necessary issue that must be seriously resolved," and "Artificial decoupling and containment will result in more losses than gains and will harm oneself."
