Wife Leaves Suicide Note Saying "Husband Forced Me to Do Adult Broadcasts 10 Hours a Day"

Incheon Yeonsu Police Station Investigates Charges Including Coercion and Extortion

The husband suspected of forcing his wife to film internet adult broadcasts for 10 hours a day is under police investigation. On the 3rd, the Yeonsu Police Station in Incheon announced that they are looking into a case in which the family of a woman in her 30s, A, who passed away last month, filed a complaint against her son-in-law, B, on charges of coercion and extortion.

On that day, Yonhap News and others reported that the complaint submitted by A's family stated, "B forced A to perform internet adult broadcasts," and "even after A demanded a divorce, he continued to threaten and demand money."

The family claimed, "B forcibly made A film sexual intercourse videos and sold them on adult websites," and "he, who was a professional soldier, was also forcibly discharged in 2021 after sharing illegal videos online." A's father told MBC on the 2nd that after A married B, who was a sergeant in the army four years ago, he felt something was strange when she stopped coming home. He said, "Even when she brought kimchi home, she never said, 'Father, please come in.' She only handed it over outside..."

However, after her death, when visiting his daughter's house, various internet broadcasting props were scattered around, and there were signs that the son-in-law was watching them on a screen in the next room. A's acquaintance told MBC, "(A) said her husband told her to do the broadcasts like this, and that he made her do it six days a week for 10 to 12 hours."

It was also reported that A's suicide note contained statements such as "I was forced to broadcast under my husband's surveillance, suffering from severe stress and depression," and "threats and demands for money continued even after our separation." Husband B did not appear at the funeral even after his wife's death. B reportedly denied the family's claims, saying, "I am innocent. None of this is true."

The Yeonsu Police Station in Incheon, which received the complaint, is investigating the specific circumstances with A's family. They have also obtained the deceased's mobile phone for investigation. The police stated, "We plan to summon B soon for questioning and then decide whether to apply charges."
