Emphasizing the Implementation of Safe Workplaces

On the 2nd, Lee Soon-hyung, Chairman of the SeAH Group, emphasized strengthening 'sustainable survivability' to withstand an uncertain business environment in his New Year's address.

Chairman Lee stated, "The domestic and international economies have not escaped a prolonged recession phase," and diagnosed, "Uncertainties in the global trade environment are increasing daily due to numerous newly emerging unexpected variables such as the spread of nationalism, weaponization of resources, various conflicts around the world, a surge in natural disasters caused by climate change, and accelerated development of AI technology."

He said, "Just as the word 'crisis' (危機) contains the meanings of both 'danger' and 'opportunity,' we can find new growth opportunities even amid strong external winds," and added, "To this end, we must devote all efforts to securing and strengthening 'sustainable survivability' that can endure difficult environments."

To enhance survivability, Chairman Lee stated, "We need to further strengthen related research and development (R&D) to increase the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in all SeAH operations and various manufacturing processes."

He also said, "As trade barriers are rising in various forms today, the usefulness of overseas business sites is increasing," and emphasized, "We must achieve quick settlement in local markets and secure competitiveness by tightening support and cooperation of management resources."

He continued, "Efforts to realize safe workplaces must be doubled company-wide," and said, "Achieving zero accidents is not a responsibility to be placed solely on a single department but requires everyone to participate with vigilance as if it were their own task."

Finally, Chairman Lee said, "I believe this year will be one where those who work fiercely with positive thinking and confidence will win," and added, "Let us gather these efforts to firmly strengthen survivability and make 2024 a year of progress toward the 100-year SeAH together."
