Han Dong-hoon, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, appointed committee members and officially launched the committee on the 29th. Chairman Han expressed his ambition, saying, "For the future of the country and to win, we will mobilize every strategy."
On the same day, Chairman Han presided over the first Emergency Response Committee meeting at the National Assembly and said, "Our time and energy are limited, and we do not have time or energy to engage in internal power struggles among ourselves." He added, "Let us use our time and energy to create good policies for our fellow citizens, explain them, and stand against the distortion and agitation of the opposing party." Chairman Han also urged, "Let's not engage in palace intrigues or form alliances like in historical dramas or Three Kingdoms politics within our ranks," and encouraged, "Let us take the lead in doing our work and not hold back."
He referred to the pivot play in basketball, saying, "Moving both feet is a foul. We have gathered for our fellow citizens and the future of the country, to win." He continued, "While we must employ every possible strategy in the process, I promise that one foot will never stray from the justification and principles of the public good." The pivot play in basketball refers to a player who, having secured the ball, moves one foot while keeping the other planted to avoid opponents trying to steal the ball. Chairman Han said, "If we lift both feet and play by any means necessary just to win, we would be no different from the Democratic Party," and added, "Our determination to win while upholding the dignity, justification, and principles appropriate to our society will actually lead us to victory."

Before the first meeting, Chairman Han appointed first-term lawmaker Jang Dong-hyuk as the new Secretary-General responsible for the practical work of next year's general election nominations. Chairman Han explained, "Lawmaker Jang has experience in administration, judiciary, and legislature, and has even served as an education official closely related to the lives of the people. I thought he would be a great help in establishing our party's principles and standards, so we brought him on board."
He also appointed Hong Young-rim, a former public opinion survey specialist reporter at Chosun Ilbo, as the head of the party's think tank, the Yeouido Research Institute. The reason for the appointment was to develop the Yeouido Research Institute into a more professional organization to ensure victory in the general election and to be recognized as a truly capable conservative group that the public can firmly trust.
An appointment ceremony was also held for a total of 10 Emergency Response Committee members. Ex officio members of the committee include Floor Leader Yoon Jae-ok and Policy Committee Chairman Yoo Ui-dong. Chairman Han said, "These are people who enable our team to equip not only with passion and enthusiasm but also with experience, prudence, and rational judgment." He emphasized, "Whenever I read a phrase from a book I like, 'I will not put a whale on my boat if I am afraid of whales,' these people come to mind." He also expressed his full reliance on Chairman Yoo's prudence, judgment, and decisiveness.
Among the appointed members were lawmaker Kim Ye-ji (43), Min Kyung-woo, concurrently the executive director of the civic group Gil (58), Kim Kyung-yul, co-representative of Economic Democracy 21 (54), lawyer Koo Ja-ryong of Hanbyeol Law Firm (45), Jang Seo-jung, CEO of the integrated care service platform "Jaranda" (45), Han Ji-a, professor of rehabilitation medicine at Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital (45), Park Eun-sik, representative of the "Honam Alternative Forum for Common Sense and Justice" (39), and Yoon Do-hyun, representative of "Support for Youth Preparing for Independence" (SOL) (21).

Representative Yoon said, "Having lived in an orphanage for 18 years and experiencing difficulties in the process of young people becoming independent, there is a significant gap between the feelings of the people involved and the process of making laws and policies," and added, "I accepted the Emergency Response Committee position because I wanted to raise my voice in the actual policy-making process."
At the meeting, Chairman Han emphasized, as reported by Chief Spokesperson Park Jeong-ha, that "Because the People Power Party is a party of liberal democracy, there should be a variety of voices, and that is our strength."
Regarding the controversy over Min Kyung-woo's alleged "elderly disparagement," Chief Spokesperson Park said, "Chairman Han considered visiting the Korean Senior Citizens Association to hear their opinions directly and apologize, but it seems difficult to do so," and added, "We are trying to express our regrets as much as possible."
