HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has produced fire safety training materials in 16 languages for foreign workers, following the foreign worker life guidebook.
The Safety and Health Support Department of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that it created the fire safety training materials in collaboration with the Ulsan Dongbu Fire Station and distributed them to in-house partner companies on the 28th.
Officials from the Ulsan Dongbu Fire Station introduced to the foreign workers how to use fire extinguishers and fire hydrants, CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) usage, actions and procedures during a fire, evacuation methods during a fire, earthquake response actions, and emergency phone numbers inside and outside the company.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries produced a total of 4,300 copies of the training materials in 16 languages: Nepali, Russian, Mongolian, Vietnamese, Bengali (Bangladesh), Sinhala (Sri Lanka), English, Uzbek, Indonesian, Chinese, Kazakh, Cambodian, Turkish, Thai, Tagalog (Philippines), and Hindi (India).
The fire safety leaflets will be distributed to all 3,500 foreign workers at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ in-house partner companies. They will also be given to new employees.

In February, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries signed a ‘Foreign Worker Fire Safety Enhancement Business Agreement’ with the Ulsan Dongbu Fire Station and has been continuously conducting fire safety education, fire safety campaigns, and joint fire drills.
Last November, fire safety management committee members from six HD Hyundai companies in the Ulsan area, including HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, HD Hyundai Electric, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, HD Hyundai Site Solutions, and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, held a meeting with the Ulsan Dongbu Fire Station to discuss fire safety management measures for foreign workers.
