AI Distinguishes Between Hardwood Floors and Carpets
Suction Power Adjusts According to Cleaning Environment
Samsung Electronics announced on the 28th that it will unveil a new AI vacuum cleaner at 'CES 2024,' the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 9th to the 12th of next month (local time).
First, it will introduce the wet and dry dual-use robot vacuum cleaner, 'Bespoke Jet Bot Combo.' After identifying customers' concerns about mop odors and bacterial growth, it has been equipped with a sterilization function. It applies a three-step automatic mop cleaning system consisting of water washing, steam sterilization, and hot air drying.
When the robot vacuum finishes mopping and returns to the Clean Station, the contaminated mop pad is automatically washed at high temperature. It undergoes steam sterilization followed by hot air drying.
The mop rotation speed is 170 rpm (170 rotations per minute). Samsung Electronics explained that the high-speed rotation effectively removes floor dirt and stubborn stains. When floor stains are detected during cleaning, the vacuum automatically returns to the Clean Station, heats the mop with steam, and performs an additional focused cleaning.
Object recognition and driving performance have also been significantly upgraded based on AI. The 'AI Floor Detection' function distinguishes between hardwood floors and carpets to enable customized cleaning according to floor material. It automatically separates the mop according to the floor environment to prevent moisture and contaminants from getting on carpets.
'AI Object Recognition' has also been enhanced. By applying a 3D sensor and object recognition camera, it recognizes and avoids objects such as small obstacles about 1cm high, smartphone cables, and pet waste pads.
It automatically classifies recognized spaces such as living rooms and kitchens and suggests setting areas like bathrooms and entrances as no-entry zones to customers.

Samsung Electronics will also unveil the 2024 model stick vacuum cleaner, 'Bespoke Jet AI,' at CES 2024. It features suction power of up to 310 watts (W) and is equipped with HEPA Filtration that blocks fine dust emissions.
It includes an 'AI Mode.' Based on detected brush load and pressure, it classifies the cleaning environment and implements optimized suction power. It is the first wireless stick vacuum cleaner in Korea to receive AI+ certification from the Korea Standards Association. It increases suction power only when necessary, reducing battery consumption.
Lee Moo-hyung, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances (DA) Division, said, "Samsung Electronics has led the vacuum cleaner market by continuously innovating with powerful suction, Clean Station, and AI functions. We will introduce smart products with advanced AI technology to provide consumers with more convenient cleaning solutions."
