Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Chemical Fiber Present 'Taekwang Person of the Year Award' and 'Daehan Award'

Top Performers Selected Every Year-End

Taekwang Group's textile and petrochemical affiliates, Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Chemical Fiber, announced on the 28th that they held the '2023 Taekwang Person of the Year Award and Daehan Award' ceremony to recognize and reward employees and departments with outstanding achievements.

The 'Taekwang Person of the Year Award and Daehan Award' is an annual year-end event by Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Chemical Fiber, initiated to reflect on the value of employees' efforts throughout the year and to boost overall organizational morale.

The individual award prize is 5 million KRW, and the team award prize is 500,000 KRW per member, paid to all team members. The highest awards for the 'Taekwang Person of the Year' and 'Daehan Award' are respectively categorized as ▲Taekwang Person of the Year (Team) ▲Daehan Award of the Year (Team), and both categories include ▲Factory Engineer Award (Individual) ▲Ethical Management Award (Individual).

This year, employees who practiced ESG management were included in the list of awardees. The 'Petrochemical Headquarters, Petrochemical Plant 3 Technical Process Team' employees who won the Taekwang Person of the Year Award and the 'Advanced Materials Headquarters Nylon Plant Production Team' employees who received the Factory Engineer Award were highly evaluated for their implementation of quality management. The 'Junior Board (interdepartmental junior organization),' which won the Ethical Management Award, was recognized for contributing to local community environmental protection by conducting activities such as the 'plogging' event, which involves picking up trash.

The Taekwang Award and Daehan Award are especially meaningful as recipients are selected fairly through thorough evaluation. Awardees were selected after ▲receiving commendation recommendations from their respective department heads as innovative performers, ▲passing the first screening by an independent internal selection committee, and ▲successfully completing the second screening through a public presentation of their achievements.

At the award ceremony, executives including Cho Jin-hwan, CEO of the Petrochemical Business Division of Taekwang Industrial, and Jung Cheol-hyun, CEO of the Advanced Materials Division of Taekwang Industrial and CEO of Daehan Chemical Fiber, attended to congratulate the awardees. CEO Cho said, “I sincerely congratulate all those selected as this year’s Taekwang Persons,” and added, “I would like to express my gratitude to all Taekwang Industrial employees who have done their best.”
