Japan's Toyota Motor Corporation is expected to secure the world's number one new car sales position for the fourth consecutive year this year.
On the 27th, Toyota announced that its global new car sales from January to November this year reached 10.22 million units. This was approximately 1.92 million units more than the sales of Germany's Volkswagen Group (8.3 million units) during the same period.
Even excluding Daihatsu and Hino Motors, Toyota's sales volume of 9.36 million units surpassed Volkswagen.
In particular, as the semiconductor shortage issue eased, sales increased in North America and Europe, and it is expected to significantly exceed last year's sales volume of 10.48 million units.
However, due to the recent issue of fraudulent quality certification acquisition by its subsidiary Daihatsu, shipments of six vehicle models have been suspended in five Southeast Asian countries, which is expected to affect Toyota's vehicle production and sales.
Daihatsu's sales account for about 10% of the entire Toyota Group.
