Ubon Issues About 20 Commemorative Stamps Annually
Commemorative stamps featuring 'Pinkfong and Baby Shark' will be issued next year.
The Ministry of Science and ICT's Postal Service Headquarters announced on the 27th the issuance plan for 21 types of commemorative stamps in 2024, including Pinkfong and Baby Shark.
Commemorative stamps are issued to honor historically significant figures, events, and meaningful occasions, or to promote national projects and foster public sentiment. About 20 types are issued annually.
The Pinkfong and Baby Shark commemorative stamps are scheduled to be released in time for Children's Day next year. Pinkfong and Baby Shark, the representative characters of The Pinkfong Company, have been produced in over 6,000 pieces of content in 25 languages and are loved worldwide.
In celebration of Family Month in May, a 'We Love Our Parents' commemorative stamp will also be issued. To mark the 130th anniversary of the Donghak Peasant Revolution in 2024, a commemorative stamp honoring the historical value and significance of the revolution, as well as its noble spirit and meaning, will be released.
Additionally, stamps featuring famous domestic poets and writers such as '100th Anniversary of Park Hwa-mok's Birth' and 'The World of Kim Whanki's Works' will be issued.
Jo Hae-geun, head of the Postal Service Headquarters, said, "Stamps have long been a means of communication and are also regarded as a country's culture and history. We will continue to actively strive to discover popular and relatable themes and enhance the marketability of commemorative stamps to promote Korean postal services both domestically and internationally."
